New look. New website. New challenges.
Every edition, we set out to create something you'll remember long after you've stopped limping. This year is no exception — new website, new distances, new routes. What hasn't changed is the team behind it all, still obsessed with giving you an experience worth every hour you've put into training.
Destroyer joins the family, and say hello to Tragapiedras.
Destroyer officially moves over from Sierra Blanca Trail to become part of Marbella Epic Trail. And we didn't stop there: say hello to Tragapiedras, a distance with the same character as the old Rompepiernas — familiar at its core, but a bit longer, and just as demanding. Both distances debut brand-new routes this year, so even if you've run them before, you haven't run this.
Aid stations: small tweaks, and a whole lot new.
If you're running Epic Trail, the route itself hasn't changed — it's the same legendary trails from previous editions, with just a few aid station locations adjusted this year. Destroyer and Tragapiedras are a different story: the routes are new, and even if you recognise a stretch here and there, the circuits have changed completely — and with them come brand-new aid stations from start to finish. Whichever distance you run, study the map carefully before race day — knowing where to refuel can be the difference between finishing and not.
Medical certificate no longer mandatory.
Starting this edition, a medical certificate is no longer required to register for the ultra distance. That doesn't mean we take your health any less seriously — we still strongly recommend keeping up with regular medical check-ups regardless.
